As Wild Earth Explorers, we are sure with the current travel restrictions and self-isolation recommendations that you are getting ‘itchy feet’, but why not use the time to prepare for your next great adventure!

Here are some of our tips to help you prepare from the comfort of your own home.

Organize your travel photos

Something we normally never have time for... sort your images from past expeditions and create a slideshow or video to share with family and friends. Create original art from some of your favorite shots or shape keepsake memory books online or personalized stationery cards with your favorite photos from your trip experiences.

Enjoy the natural bounty in your backyard

We often see past the beauty on our doorstep. Grab your binoculars and check out the birds. Take your camera and get artistic flower shots, catalog your sightings or start/add to your life list of flora and fauna that you find in your backyard. Share your findings with us on Facebook and Instagram by tagging us in your post @WildEarthExpeditions or #hashtag your image with #MyWildIsolationFinds

Explore the hidden world of National Parks

Get the feeling of some of America's National Parks without leaving your couch with GooglePlay’s Arts and Culture

Create an Explorers Bucket List

Dream now. Travel later.
Scribble down your ideas of what places, wildlife, and travel experiences you hope to add to your Bucket List. Visit our website for inspiration, watch some of our Youtube videos or trip albums from previous expeditions, follow our trip posts on Facebook. Reach out to us or share your ideas with us on Facebook and Instagram by tagging us in your post @WildEarthExpeditions or #hashtag your image with #OnMyWildEarthBucketList

Online learning

Take the time to finally learn that instrument you've always dreamt of playing or learn a new language. Online courses and language apps are available. Learning a language helps immerse yourself into your next adventure with a base in the local language, and it is a great way to impress the locals.

Learn to Scuba dive or take your diving skills to the next level

PADI E-learning allows you to complete the theory section to gain your license to dive (Open Water qualification), which leaves only the ‘in water’ part to be completed when you have a chance.  If you are an Open Water Diver already, complete your next level and become an Advanced Open Water Diver (now often required for more challenging dive sites), Rescue Diver, or do your Nitrox - Enriched Air Diver specialty course.
